Programs designed far from the people they are meant to serve miss local realities, cultures, and priorities. Solutions imposed from outside create dependency instead of resilience. And when local voices are silenced, ownership, innovation, and sustainability are lost. Yet for many communities across Africa, this is still the reality, interventions that arrive without listening, projects that collapse when funding ends, and systems too fragile to stand on their own. Locally-led, community-driven development is the foundation for sustainability, dignified and true progress for all.<\/div>

At ChildFund, we believe that the most powerful change doesn\u2019t come from the outside. It rises from within. In the 12 countries where we work in Africa, we partner with 57 independent local organizations to create positive change for and with children. We don\u2019t outsource impact, we co-create it. These organizations are not subsidiaries or subcontractors but local changemakers with their own missions, boards and dreams. Together, blending global expertise with local insight, we\u2019re achieving our shared dream of ensuring that children grow up healthy, educated, skilled and safe. Of our total $400 million investment<\/strong><\/span> in the last decade, we\u2019ve put $50 million toward strengthening local organizations and $350 into fueling community-driven programs spanning health, education, child protection and skills development, all tailored to the unique needs and aspirations of each community.<\/p><\/div>\n \t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

ChildFund works with 57 local partner organizations in Africa. These partners range from organizations that have grown from grassroots initiatives into nationally recognized leaders to multi-partner initiatives that have scaled beyond their borders. Our mission is to contribute toward positive change so strong and resilient, that communities no longer need us. That is the same level of engagement we get from their local partner, Ndomakeh Federation in Kailahun district. This approach has made a real difference in our community. Because we are involved from the start, we feel a strong sense of ownership and that means we take responsibility for maintaining and protecting the projects. We\u2019ve seen the results firsthand: improved water access, better learning environments for our children, and stronger livelihoods for our families. These are not just ChildFund\u2019s projects, they are our projects, built with our hands and meeting our needs.\u201d<\/p>
