Kimisitu Foundation is in Mathare for 2024 CSR activity

The 2024 SACCA Congress, held in Naivasha, successfully brought together cooperative leaders, members, and stakeholders under the theme:  ” This year’s event was marked by insightful discussions, innovative ideas, and impactful actions focused on advancing sustainable development within cooperative societies”.

A highlight of the congress was the tree planting exercise led by the Chairman, Board of Directors, and CEO of SACCA. The initiative, which coincided with Mazingira Day—a day dedicated to environmental conservation—symbolized SACCA’s unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship. Participants planted trees to enhance local ecosystems, combat climate change, and support sustainable livelihoods for future generations.

By directly engaging in such activities, SACCA’s leadership not only underscored the importance of environmental conservation but also demonstrated how cooperatives can be powerful agents of socio-economic transformation. This hands-on initiative is aligned with the overarching goals of the congress: promoting sustainable development practices and creating lasting positive change in communities through cooperative models.

As the congress concluded, participants left with a renewed sense of purpose and collaboration, ready to continue driving socio-economic transformation in their communities with sustainability at the forefront of their efforts.

The event successfully reinforced SACCA’s role in fostering a sustainable, socially inclusive, and economically transformative cooperative movement, marking a significant step forward in both environmental and socio-economic goals.
