CAS Dr. Tuimur Commissions projects in Nandi County

Kaplesan Community in Nandi County says goodbye to water shortage following the Commission of a Water Supply in the area.

The Kaplesan Community Water Supply Project  was officially commissioned by CAS Ministry of Water, Sanitation & Irrigation Dr. Andrew Tuimur on the 7th October, 2020. The project was constructed by Lake Victoria North Water Works Development Agency with financial support by the Kenya National Government through The Ministry of Water, Sanitation & Irrigation at a cost of Kshs. 11 Million .

The Kaplesan Community Water Project serves over 3,200 people in 300 households, 5 schools and a dispensary within the community. The scope of the project involved protection of a spring, construction of an elevated water tank, 4 kiosks and 6kms of water distribution pipeline to ensure maximum reach within the project area.

On the same day, Dr. Tuimur also presided over the Ground Breaking of the Kapsabet Girls Borehole Water Project in Kapsabet Town, Nandi County. This is one of the Projects Lake Victoria North Water Works Development Agency is currently implementing under the Water for Schools Programme funded by the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation.

The Project will serve over 2,500 consumers in the School including Students and Staff members. It is planned for completion within next one month and will go along way to help in the control spread of Covid 19 in the school, with the opening of Schools nearing.
