The works involved rehabilitation of Kapsabet Water Treatment Works and distribution system to serve Kapsabet town and its environs.

The Project targeted to increase provision of safe, reliable and stable supply of drinking water in to a population of 32,500 (out of 41,400) living in Kapsabet Town and its environs who depend on Kabutie River as a water source.

The project was undertaken by Konoike Construction Co., Ltd. (KIG), with NJS Consultants Co., Ltd. (NJS) as the consultants.

The main project components are the construction of a new water treatment plant, service reservoirs, water conveyance, transmission or distribution pipelines as well as the rehabilitation of intake facility.
